DESCRIPTION:Visit Las Vegas Civic Center Gallery\n  \nWe are honored to have Abbey’s work included in “Her Story Through Art: Las Vegas Women Artists\,” a public group exhibition celebrating the work and contributions of women artists in Southern Nevada. \nCurated by Las Vegas Arts Commissioner Joan De Santis and Amanda “Rawky” Lozano\, the exhibition invites our community not only to experience exceptional artwork but also to celebrate the connections\, conversations and sense of belonging that creativity inspires. \nThe exhibition will feature previously unseen artwork by Rita\, offering a special opportunity to discover another part of her artistic legacy. The exhibition is free and open to the public during Las Vegas Civic Center Gallery hours. We hope you’ll join us for the reception at the Civic Center Gallery!

DESCRIPTION:Honoring Our Ancestors: A Sound Bath for Remembrance & Legacy- October’s sound bath draws inspiration from All Hallows Eve\, All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day\, a time of year to devoted to remembering and honoring our ancestors and guides. At The Rita Deanin Abbey Art Museum\, this reflection takes on a particularly personal meaning as Rita is one of our ancestors. Surrounded by her art and the legacy she created\, guests are invited to meditate on the people\, traditions\, stories\, and creative legacies that shape who we are and continue through us. Together we’ll honor those who came before us—including Rita—while reflecting on what we inherit\, what we choose to carry forward\, and the legacy we each leave behind.\nWe invite guests to bring a water bottle\, a yoga mat and/or blanket as well as any pillows\, blocks and bolster they may need to reach a comfortable and meditative plane. If you do not have your own yoga mat\, we do have a limited number to borrow. Please note\, no food or beverages (apart from water) are allowed in the museum galleries. We encourage you to enjoy the museum galleries and gardens at your own pace afterwards. \nOpen to all ages 16+

Inspired in part by the playful virtuosity and distinctive folk-inflected sound of the Danish String Quartet\, the program brings together Scandinavian-inspired melodies\, American folk traditions\, contemporary arrangements\, and original compositions. Expect soaring melodies\, haunting harmonies\, infectious rhythms\, and plenty of fiddly fun as familiar folk sounds are transformed through sophisticated classical arrangements. At the heart of Rooted is a musical tug-of-war: folk melodies and rhythms carry something instinctive and deeply human\, while classical form and harmony attempt to shape and contain that energy—and the music keeps pushing back. That tension is where the excitement lives\, creating an intimate yet exuberant\, refined yet unruly experience that invites audiences to rediscover the enduring power of musical tradition through a contemporary lens. Rooted in tradition. Reimagined through classical form. Impossible to keep entirely contained!

DESCRIPTION:El Camino: A Musical Journey invites audiences along a vibrant musical road through Latin America\, with a program of tango\, windswept landscapes\, and kaleidoscopic sound worlds. Inspired by the idea of “the road\,” this intimate concert traces paths of movement through rhythm\, memory\, place\, and cultural imagination. The program features internationally-renowned classical guitarist Ricardo Cobo with special guest artists Christina Castellanos\, principal flutist of the Las Vegas Philharmonic and a returning favorite of RDA Performs\, and Ráyo Furuta\, praised by Informador de Guadalajara as “the rockstar of the flute.”
