Hatha Yoga for Beginners with Maureen Heher Karaffa
February 8 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
$30
The Rita Deanin Abbey Art Museum is excited to welcome back Maureen Heher Karaffa to lead a Hatha Yoga Class for beginners.
Hatha Yoga translates from Sanskrit to Ha=sun, Ta=moon, Yoga= Unity or yoke together. During this hour-long session, we will focus on holding each pose for a few breaths, with guided instruction to build strength, stamina and flexibility. Slowing down to focus on one pose at a time positively affects the central nervous system easing mental stress. It also increases the student’s awareness of the mechanics of their own body.
Please bring a yoga mat, blanket, water bottle and any other blocks or supports you may need to feel comfortable. We encourage you to budget for extra time after the class to enjoy the museum galleries and gardens at your own pace.
We are thrilled to be working with Maureen Heher Karaffa, a native Nevadan who has taught yoga and the healing arts in Las Vegas for over 4 decades! A graduate of UNLV and the School of Natural Healing she is a licensed drugless practitioner and master herbalist .
